Globally, police departments are facing a crisis: many crimes remain unsolved due to limited resources. With only a small percentage of cases cleared, understaffed officers are struggling to keep up - leaving communities vulnerable and justice delayed.
That’s where Evidentful comes in.
Evidentful, one of the 16 companies part of the Startmate Summer’25 Accelerator cohort, is an AI-driven platform designed for police forces to help them automate witness interviews and capture them in 60 different languages.
Using a voice-first approach, the system interacts with witnesses like a real human, ensuring comprehensive and accurate interviews are completed. Once completed, these interviews are converted into structured witness statements that align with policing guidelines, streamlining the investigation process and improving case outcomes.
Co-founded by Duncan Faulkner, a former police officer with firsthand experience of the challenges within the force, and Ravi Sohal, Evidentful is already garnering significant interest from UK police forces. The platform is currently preparing for police funded pilot programs with several police departments, supported by the UK’s Police Digital Services.
As the team pushes toward the UK piloting phase, their vision extends beyond simply automating interviews. They aim to transform public engagement with law enforcement, allowing citizens to directly contribute to investigations and increasing overall crime detection rates.
With plans to expand into a global solution for police forces, Evidentful is leading the way in making policing more efficient, accessible, and responsive to the needs of both authorities and communities.
